Recipe of The Week: Heart Attack In A Bowl

Published February 1, 2014 in Masculinity - 3 Comments

Ever since my motorcycle crash, I’ve had to be mindful of my diet to compensate for not hitting the weights.  So I’ve been eating 1 meal a day for 5 days and fasting for 2 days. Christian McQueen has his little Recipe of The Week sections and when I tweeted a pic of my meal he called it the heart attack in a bowl.

So without further adieu, here is my Recipe of The Week: Heart Attack in a Bowl .

Ingredients

  • 2 Diced Sweet Peppers
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 Handfuls Shredded Cheese
  • Butter
  • Steak seasoned to taste
  • Maple Bacon
Recipe of The Week Ingredients: Peppers

First You Dice the Peppers

eggs, sweet pepper

Then Scramble the Eggs

Recipe Of The Week: Eggs and Cheese

Add Cheese when off the pan.

Steak

Forgot to put the butter on before the meat. No biggie

Steak loves being cook in butter. Don't skimp.

Nom Nom Nom Nom Nom

I use a 12 Inch Lodge Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Skillet with Red Silicone Hot Handle Holder and it works wonders. The only problem is I broke the Hot Handle Holder in my Motorcycle accident so it’s kind of a bitch to use but I make do.

I throw the butter on to melt. Cook the Eggs.  Add the Cheese once eggs have been plated. Then add more butter. Cook the steak. The timing is completely up to your preference of steak. I like mine medium just on the rarer side so it’s about 15 minutes total.

Then throw the Bacon on after the steak and you’re good to go.

This meal combined with 1 Juice a day allows me to keep burning fat even though i’m not lifting weights at the moment.

If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask. Until next time,

Sploosh out.

I like this kind of variety to the topics.
And that is one hell of a tasty meal for sure. It just lacks 3 slices of whole grain bread to be complete. Well at least, here under my sky.
And isn’t 1300 cals a day kinda low even during times like this?

I also do 1-2 protein shakes depending on the day. so total around 1600 give or take. It’s been working and I can stick to it. Plus i’ll have 1 cheat meal/carb refeed every week.

How does juicing effect y our ketosis? I imagine, in the most scientific way possible, that by limiting the number of “sweet” fruits in the juice, one would not effect his state. However, from beets, carrots to apples, oranges, they all have sugars. Not as detrimental as scarfing a soda pop, but I’d still like to hear your input.
